Professor Lu Ling, coursedirector of Basic Programming, mainly works on natural language processing and the exploration and research of big data and data on social media. She is also the visiting scholarof New York University,Deputy Dean ofthe College of AppliedScience and Technology of CQUT,member of Chongqing Computer Professional Education Steering Committee and Secretary ofthe Functional PartyBranch ofthe virtualteaching and research office ofProgramming,and has won titles of“Chongqing Honorable Teacher ofIdeological andPoliticalTeaching” and“Chongqing Prominent Teacher” respectively in 2021 and 2019.
Since she started her teaching career 22 years ago, she has devoted herself to the teaching and building of courses including Basic Programming and Data Structure for undergraduates learning computer science.She integrates ideological and political teaching in her teaching method and put an emphasis on ethic value of students. Besides, she is also the promoter of curriculum reform concerning teaching mode, which isstudent-centered and outcome-based. All her painstaking efforts and outstanding thoughts on education have won her awards and titles as below:

Over the past 5 years,ProfessorLu haspresided over 2 research and teaching projects at provincial and ministerial level, such as “The Reform and Practice of New Training Mode of Computer Engineering Talents in Response to Emerging Engineering Education”, published, as the first author, 7 teaching and research papers including “Evaluation Method Reform and Practice of Computer Science Courses Supervised by CEEAA(Chinese Engineering Education Accreditation Association)”, and joined the writing of 7 textbooks of programming, being the chief editor of 3 out ofthe7.
She has also presided over 1 western project of National Social Science Fund, 1 scientific project of Chongqing Municipal Education Commission, 1 project of
Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to set national standard for information security, 4 projects supported by enterprises, and participatedin7 projects supported by government at or beyond provincial or national level. Her achievements during this period also include more than 10 papers published in significant journals and China’s core journals such as ESWA (SCI Zone 1, Top Journal) and Applied Sciences, and 4 invention patents.
