On the afternoon of October 14th, President Du Huiping led a team to Tencent Cloud (Chongqing) Industrial Internet Base for investigation. Zhang Jun,VicePresident andGeneralManager of Beiming Digital Technology, Zhang Qing,Deputy GeneralManager, Zhang Yun,NationalOperationDirector of Tencent Cloud Industrial Internet, Shi Chao,CommercialDirector of Tencent Higher Education Industry in West China Region, and other department heads accompanied to investigate and attend the forum.

President Du and his delegation visited the enterprise exhibition hall of Tencent Southwest Headquarters and Tencent Cloud (Chongqing) Experience Centerfor Industrial Internet, listened to the introduction of Tencent’s development history, organizational structure and business segments, learned about the application of Tencent Cloud in people’s livelihood, government affairs, industry, medical treatment, security and other fields in detail, and visited and experienced intelligent projects such as AI interaction. Subsequently, the two sides held an exchange forum.

At the forum, President Du first introduced the development history of CQUT and some achievements in discipline construction,talents cultivation, commercialization of scientific and technological results and other aspects in recent years. He pointed out that in the changes of the industrial internet era, the digitalization process of all walks of life has developed to a new stage. Tencent, as a leading Internet technology company in China, uses innovative products and services to help all industries to upgrade and iterate to achieve digital transformation and promote sustainable social development. Tencent Cloud (Chongqing) Industrial Internet Base has leading technologies and rich ecological capabilities in cloud computing, big data, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, blockchain, security and other fields. CQUT is looking forward to establishing in-depth cooperation with the base and Beiming Digital Technology. Centering on Chongqing’s key pillar industries, CQUT will promote the organic connection of the talent chain, innovation chain and industrial chain, and promote the deep integration of industry-university-research. CQUT will make more efforts to give full play to the advantages of scientific research resources and talents training, and make more contributions to the development of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle through school-enterprise cooperation.

Zhang Jun made a high acknowledgement of all CQUT’s staff and students in professionality, social contributions, and other aspects. He pointed out that interdisciplinary talents who are familiar with production and manufacturing processes, proficient in IT/OT knowledge, and have cross-border cooperation ability are in urgent need amid China’s new normal economy, deep implementation of innovation-driven development, sustained efforts in the supply-side structural reform as well as the development of industrial Internet. Relying on Chongqing and the advantage of the national demonstration base for new industrialization of Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, Tencent Cloud (Chongqing) Industrial Internet Platform aims to create five centers for enterprises: industrial Internet operation services, innovation incubation, industrial Internet financial services, talent training and innovation display and experience. The cooperation and exchange with CQUT will also be a strong marker for the base to carry out industry-university-research cooperation.

At the forum, Zhang Qing shared his ideas themed by “Applications ofDigitalIntelligenceTechnology under theTransformation ofIndustrialInternet”. Then Zhang Yun introduced the national layout of Tencent Cloud Industrial Internet and Tencent’s characteristic advantages in industry-university-research cooperation. After that, Dr. Tang Jiqiang,head of the Internet of Things Engineering Department in the School of Computer Science and Engineering of CQUT shared the education model ofCQUT in the field of industrial Internet with the intelligent fan control system as an example. Both sides have reached consensus on carrying out in-depth cooperation in such fields as intellectual resources sharing, scientific research and innovation collaboration, personnel training and joint construction, and project cooperation and development.
